QDRO Preparation Overview

Retirement benefits are often the most valuable asset in divorce and they deserve special attention to ensure benefits are divided correctly.

We prepare Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (“QDROs”) and Domestic Relations Orders (“DROs”) for all varieties of qualified and governmental defined contribution and defined benefit plans taking into account the parties’ negotiated agreement and the applicable California community property law.

We also have expertise in the areas of non-qualified equity compensation benefits and the unique aspects of handling the division of these assets.

In contested matters, we advise parties directly or consult with family law attorneys to provide expert services related to the preparation of language for Marital Settlement Agreements, preparing briefing for RFO or motions pertaining to retirement benefits, and serving as an expert in trial.

We focus on efficiency, and strive to be a valuable member of the team of divorce professionals.
